ASAA/NZ 2025 Conference Keynote Speaker: Dr April K. Henderson

We are thrilled to announce that Dr April K. Henderson (Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington) is joining our 2025 conference (9-12 December in Whaīngaroa, Waikato) as a keynote speaker. Dr Henderson’s keynote address is titled “Fielding Questions: Articulations and Disarticulations of Pacific Studies and Anthropology.” Our call for papers is open now if you would like to join us. We welcome submissions of 250-word abstracts by 31 August 2025.

ASAA/NZ Conference 2025 - call for papers extended deadline

2025 marks 50 years since our association was formed! We look forward to welcoming you to this milestone event in Whāingaroa (Raglan), Waikato, Aotearoa New Zealand, on 9-12 December. To celebrate five decades of our annual gatherings in Aotearoa, we have extended the deadline for the call for papers to 31 August 2025.

Call for papers for ASAA/NZ 2025 conference

The call for papers for our 2025 conference, Edges, Borders, Margins, and Peripheries, is now open. We encourage submissions of abstracts of no more than 250 words for individual papers, panels, and group sessions that engage with our theme; however, unrelated submissions are also welcome. The deadline for abstracts is 31 May 2025.

Call for Abstracts: ASAA/NZ 2024 conference Vital Signs

The Social Anthropology Programme at Massey University is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the ASAA/NZ annual conference 21-23 November 2024 on our Manawatū campus in Palmerston North. The conference theme is “Vital Signs” and we welcome submissions for individual panels, group sessions, and a range of innovative modalities. Abstracts are due 1 August 2024.
